VTCT - Level 3 Certificate
The VTCT Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies is a knowledge-based qualification which will provide you with a sound foundation to pursue a career as a complementary therapist.
Learning is broken down in 12 main sections covering the major body systems together with physiology and pathologies for each system. The course covers:-
- The building blocks and organisation of the body
- The Integumentary system
- The skeletal system
- The muscular system
- The nervous system
- The endocrine system
- The respiratory system
- The cardiovascular system
- The lymphatic system
- The digestive system
- The urinary system
- The reproductive system
Assessments and Examinations
Pathologies Assignment – you will need to research and evidence in your portfolio at least three pathologies for each body system.
You will also need to complete an Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology work book.
There are two written external exams where a minimum pass mark of 70% must be achieved for each paper. These exams cover anatomy and physiology.
Together with classroom study to help with learning though out this course there will be variety of mini projects, quizzes and puzzles, assignments, written and verbal mock exams to help you build to your portfolio. Our aim is that by the time you come to sit your exams you will be passionate about and amazed how the body works!
No previous experience is required, however, good communication skills and organisation skills would be helpful. Everyone on this course will need to be prepared to work hard individually and as a team.
9 months of 4 evenings per month (two evenings, once a fortnight per below). Written examination in month 10.
It is an in depth course and we feel that you need this time to simulate your developing knowledge and be able to apply your knowledge to other modalities.
