Course Overview

This course will provide you with the knowledge of Reflexology preparing you for a career as a Reflexologist.
The diploma course is broken down into four modules. For each module you will be required to build a portfolio containing evidence of study and assignments for each module as outlined below.

UV31302 – Provide Reflexology

This modules covers:-

  • The history and development of Reflexology
  • Reflexology benefits and treatment objectives
  • Comprehensive reflexology routine
  • Client consultation process
  • Understanding contra-indications and restrictions to treatment
  • How to adapt treatments
  • The importance of client care and home care advice
  • The importance of note taking and records

Assessments and Course work

To complete this module you will need to carry out and evidence 100 treatments. Your tutors will help you plan your work load and assess your treatments with feedback each month.

As part of this course, you will complete a Reflexology workbook to evidence your learning.

This modules has a 50/50 spilt of theory and practical. As your skills develop you will invited to partake in clinic sessions with clients. Your tutors will formally assess your treatments on at least three occasions during the clinic sessions.

UV31299 – Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology

This is broken down into 12 main sections where you can expect to learn about our amazing human body. All the major body systems are covered together with physiology and pathologies for each system.


Assignments and Examinations

Pathologies Assignment – you will need to research and evidence in your portfolio three pathologies for each body system. You will also need to complete an Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology work book.

There are two external exams where a pass mark of 70% must be achieved for each paper.

UV31268  Principles and practice

In this section we cover the key aspects of good clinical practice as well as the history and origins of complementary therapies to increase your knowledge in this fast growing area.
Assignments - this is an assignment based module.

UV31267 Business practice

The aim of this unit is to give you the understanding of the criteria needed run a business covering professionalism, legislation, ethics and referrals, within the field of Complementary Therapy.
Assignments - this is an assignment based module.

Entry Requirements

No previous experience is required, however, good communication skills would be helpful. Everyone on this course will need to be prepared to work hard individually and as a team.

Course Duration

This diploma course consist of 1 weekend per month for 9 months with final examination and assessments in month 10. We advise an hour a day for home study. This allows progressive completion of assignments, workbooks and case studies each month with tutor feedback and guidance.

It is an in depth course and we feel that you need this time to cultivate your knowledge and develop into a confident professional Reflexologist.
